N.C.B. Training Badge - Award of Merit
This merit award badge originated from the Group Training Centre (G.T.C.) of the N.C.B's South-Eastern Division (i.e. Kent area). The hand held safety lamp depicted in the badge's centre looks similar to the Hailwood Patent Type A.C.D. No.4 (high candle power type).
Actual badge measures 28 mm by 34 mm and has a button hole attachment on its reverse. Also on its reverse is the maker's name of Fattorini of Birmingham (picture courtesy of John Soppitt).
