Mining Convention Delegate Identification Badge
This badge was issued to a "Mr. W. Bailey" as a form of delegate identification badge while attending the Association of Mining Electrical and Mechanical Engineer's convention in Buxton (Derbyshire) in 1950. Quite what the significance of the white rose of Yorkshire is does not seem clear. Possibly the rose signifies that this particular conference of the Assoc.M.E&M.E. was organised by or held for the Yorkshire branch of the association.
Actual badge measures 38 mm by 38 mm and has a pin attachment on its reverse (picture courtesy of John Soppitt).
